It’s the time of year to begin thinking about your 2012 Boot Camp Business strategy.
When I think of my own boot camp strategy, as an example, this is immediately what comes to mind:
What does my boot camp stand for?
Offer my current members the best deal by creating a “knock your socks” off yearly membership special rate
Try to minimize the payment process hassles by only accepting “Auto Pay” payments.
Let me explain very quickly.
1. What does my boot camp stand for?
It’s been said that you either stand for something or you stand for nothing. About 5 years ago, I began to have an identity crisis with my boot camp direction.
Should I try to be all things to everyone (beginners to advanced) or should I do WHAT I WANT TO DO?
After a few months of thinking about it, I decided to run my classes with the intermediate to advanced clientele in mind.
I’m glad that I did.
I have the kind of boot camp that I would join if I wasn’t the owner.
There’s no whining, no negativity just all out effort and intensity – along with a lot of fun thrown in.
2. It’s the time of year to offer your members a yearly paid in advance rate for 2012.
I do this every year at this time.
Before the Holidays, before people get lost in all of the confusion.
Because I always have a handful that pay for the year in advance.
Don’t question it. Just do it. Offer a clear, concise “Irresistible Offer” that they would have to be crazy to turn down. Throw in some goodies like a Shirt, a couple of boxes of protein bars and perhaps a wristwatch with a heartrate monitor.
The goodies are optional.
But make sure you give them a great rate so that they save a few hundred off of your regular rate. They’ll love it and so will you.
Limit this offer to a certain number, say 10 or so.
3. Consider moving away from accepting cash and checks.
I never thought I would do this.
But once I offered the “Auto Pay” option at a reduced monthly rate, I instantly converted 8 of my regulars.
Now every month, the money is directly deposited into my account. I use PayPal’s subscription feature and have been doing so since 2007 when I began my DVD of the month business.
It works great. No hassles, no chasing down payments, etc.
I’m going to be pushing this option even more in 2012 as I would like to completely move away from checks and cash.
That’s it – hope you begin to think about your 2012 strategy and get clear on what you’re going to do.
Boot Camps are still going strong as ever.
If you tried starting a boot camp and it didn’t workout, try it again.
Don’t give up – the obesity rate is still very high and the public needs us to help them get healthy.
Group training (or boot camps) is one of the best ways to do this. And there is room for all of u
